Offers of the Salzburg surrounding town

Experience and enjoy Salzburg

Your holiday in Salzburg City and its environs

Neighboring the world-famous city of Mozart, Salzburg, you will find an array of attractive towns and villages that unite the best of both worlds – the unparalleled cultural offerings of the city, including the internationally acclaimed Salzburg Festival, and holiday accommodations in a beautiful green setting.

The surrounding communities introduce themselves

Out of the city and into green nature. The communities located on the outskirts of Salzburg have much in common, yet each is unique in its own right. Countless opportunities for recreation, pristine natural landscapes, though also transit connections that are second to none. A combination that truly distinguishes holidays spent in Wals-Siezenheim, Hallwang, Grödig, Grossgmain, Eugendorf, Elsbethen, Elixhausen or Anthering. www.salzburg-umgebung.com

What might your holiday look like?

It would be an impossible task to visit all of our area attractions during a single holiday. However, there are several highlights that are absolute musts during your stay in Salzburg or one of the surroundings communities.

Enjoy a relaxed arrival at your hotel in the course of Friday afternoon.

Later, ride the bus into the Salzburg historic district. A visit to Hohensalzburg Fortress, which is enthroned high above the city, will show you just how impressive history can be. As you make your way from one highlight to the next, be sure to pause every now and then to appreciate the iconic atmosphere of the baroque Old City. Your next stop might well be a visit to Mozart’s Birthplace. In this museum, you will be given a glimpse into how this musical genius lived back in his day.

After so many memorable impressions, you will undoubtedly wish to sit down for a few moments at traditional Café Fürst on the Alter Markt. In nice weather, you will likely choose a table in front of the coffeehouse, where you can enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere to the full.

On the following morning, begin your day with a gondola ride to the top of the Untersberg. One of Salzburg’s most iconic local mountains, it treats you to a spectacular view of Salzburg City and the surrounding peaks from upon high. Numerous hiking paths give you a wonderful sense of what the Alpine world is all about.

Upon your return to the valley, hop on the No. 25 bus and get off directly in front of Schloss Hellbrunn. This palace and its grounds, also home to the gazebo made famous by the movie “The Sound of Music”, will be yet another highlight of your holiday. Stroll through the broad park, explore the palace, and prepare yourself for a few surprises courtesy of the Trick Fountains.

Your non-binding request:

After that, sadly, it will already be time to leave, at which point there’s nothing left to say but:

“Auf Wiedersehen!” – we look forward to seeing you again soon in our beautiful towns & villages on the outskirts of Salzburg City!
